SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES

The following practices, which increase the risk of development of resistance and may ultimately lead to ineffectiveness of treatment should be avoided: too frequent and long-term administration of substances in the same class; underdosing as a result of the wrong weight assessment of the animals. Suspected clinical cases of resistance should be investigated using appropriate tests (e.g., Faecal egg count reduction test). If the test result suggests resistance to a given substance, another substance belonging to another pharmacological class and other mechanism of action will be used.

It is advisable to initiate the treatments after conducting the stool examinations for parasites in conjunction with the clinical examinations. If this is not possible, the treatment should be based on local epidemiological information (farm, region).
