Pig - It is recommended for the treatment of enzootic pneumonia (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae) in the treatment of joint infections hoof diseases caused by Mycoplasma hyosinoviae, Staphylococcus aureus, susceptible to lincomycin
Do not administer to rabbits, hamsters, Guinea pigs, chinchillas, horses and ruminants because lincomycin can cause serious gastrointestinal disorders in these species.
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to lincomycin or to the excipient.
None known.
The product is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 11 mg of active substance/kg of body weight (equivalent to 1 mL of product/27 kg body weight) once a day, for 3 consecutive days. Thereafter, depending on clinical development, treatment should be continued by administering lincomycin to fodder or drinking water.
WARNINGS/ RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
In order to ensure the correct dose, the weight of the animals shall be assessed as accurately as possible in order to avoid over- or underdosing.
Pigs - meat and offal: 4 days
Do not store above 25°C. Keep away from direct light.
Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 2 years. Shelf-life after first opening the immediate packaging: 28 days
The use of the product should be based on antimicrobial susceptibility testing of bacteria isolated from animals.
If this is not possible, therapy should be based locally on epidemiological information on the target bacteria susceptibility.
Using the product in violation of the instructions provided in the SmPC may increase the prevalence of resistant bacteria and may decrease treatment effectiveness due to their cross-resistance potential.
In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician.
Avoid contact of the product with eyes or skin.
In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with water.
The product can be administered during gestation and lactation.
It is not recommended to use with erythromycin, because an antagonistic effect may occur.
In case of overdosing, animals may exhibit soft stools and diarrhoea.
In the absence of compatibility studies, this veterinary medicinal product shall not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements. The medicine should not be discharged into water courses due to its danger to fish and other aquatic organisms. The treated animals will be kept in shelters throughout the treatment and the manure from them will be collected and SHALL NOT be used for soil fertilisation.
