For the treatment of infections caused by florfenicol-susceptible bacteria, as follows:
In chickens (broilers): for the treatment and metaphylaxis of enteritis caused by Escherichia coli and of Chronic Respiratory Disease caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum.
In pigs: for the treatment and metaphylaxis of swine respiratory diseases associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida.
Florfenicol 25 mg/ml
Do not use in boars intended for breeding purposes.
Do not use in the case of known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not use in piglets weighing less than 2 kg.
In pigs during treatment may notice a reduction in water consumption and occurrence following adverse reactions: erythema / edema perianal and rectal, transient diarrhea, constipation with stool dark brown. These reactions are transient and reversible.
Oral administration via drinking water.
Chickens (broilers): 30 mg florfenicol/kg body weight/day, respectively 1,2 ml Florcrid/ kg body weight/day, for 3 consecutive days.
The amount of Florcrid solution (AFS) can be calculated based on total body weight of the herd to be treated (TBW) and the total water consumption of the herd in
24 hours (TWC) using the following formula:
If a dispenser set at P% percentage is used, the following formula is used:
Pigs: 10 mg florfenicol/kg body weight/day, respectively 0,4 ml Florcrid kg body weight/day, for 5 consecutive days.
The amount of Florcrid solution (AFS) can be calculated based on total body weight of the herd to be treated (TBW) and the total water consumption of the herd in
24 hours (TWC) using the following formula:
If a proportioner set at P% is used, then the formula is:
To ensure correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosing. Ingestion of medicated water depends on the clinical
condition of the animals. Medicated water should be the only source of drinking water. Medicated drinking water should be prepared fresh every 24 hours.
If there is no improvement in clinical signs during treatment should review the diagnosis and the treatment should be changed.
WARNING !!!
Solutions with a florfenicol concentration comprised between 1.2 g / liter and 12 g / liter precipitate. in cases of using a dispenser, if the AFS value appears from the calculations between 0.48 and 4.8, the percentage of dosage P (%) should be changed.
Meat and offal:
Chickens (broilers): 3 days.
Pigs: 17 days.

Special precautions for use in animals
Use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of the bacteria isolated from the animal. If this is not possible, therapy should be based on local (regional, farm level) epidemiological information about susceptibility of the target bacteria. Use of the product deviating from the instructions given in the SPC may increase the prevalence of bacteria resistant to the active substance and may decrease the effectiveness of treatment due to potential of cross-resistance.
Official, national and regional antimicrobial policies should be taken into account when the product is used. The disease may determine a decreased water intake. In case of insufficient intake of medicated water the treatment plan should be reviewed.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals
Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst using the product.
People with known hypersensitivity to florfenicol or polyethylene glycol should avoid contact with the product. In case of accidental spillage into eyes, wash them immediately with water. In case of contact with skin, wash the affected area with water and soap immediately. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice and show the physician the package leaflet.
Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay
Studies in laboratory animals have not revealed any evidence of embryo- or foeto-toxic potential for florfenicol. However, the effect of florfenicol to target
species reproductive performance and pregnancy has not been assessed.
Must not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
None known.
Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), if necessary
In case of overdosage decreases water consumption, decreased weight gain, dehydration, edema anal / perianal, rectal prolapse, changes in hematological
and biochemical parameters.
Incompatibilities
In the absence of compatibility studies, this veterinary medicinal product must not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIALS, IF ANY
